Amethyst Geode

This magnificent deep purple Amethyst geode is a premier collector's piece, distinguished by its exceptionally saturated color and natural egg-like formation.

Specifications & Origin

  • Origin: This geode was unearthed in the Artigas region of Uruguay. This region is globally renowned for producing amethyst with the highest color saturation and superior crystal quality.

  • Size: The specimen measures approximately 22 x 14 cm and weighs around 2.8 kg.

  • Mounting: It comes displayed on a custom-fitted, black metal spinning stand. The rotating base allows for 360-degree viewing of the specimen's unique geological features.

Description

The geode features a dense interior of sparkling druzy crystals in a rich, royal purple hue. Its polished outer rim consists of a sleek agate shell, which provides a smooth, modern contrast to the rugged, natural basalt exterior. The central cavity, or "cavern," creates a dramatic sense of depth, while multiple viewing "windows" allow light to penetrate and illuminate the crystals from various angles.

Back Side View

The back of the geode showcases the natural basalt matrix in which the amethyst formed. This rough, stone-like exterior provides a neutral, organic backdrop that highlights the vibrant purple interior when the piece is rotated.
