A finely carved globular cosmetic jar carved from a single piece of Egyptian alabaster (calcite). The squat, rounded body with slightly flattened base rises to a small, everted flat rim with narrow mouth. The stone shows the characteristic warm honey-yellow to creamy-white banding and remarkable translucency, particularly visible in the lower half of the vessel.

The interior preserves concentric drilling marks from its manufacture and traces of ancient earthy deposits. Small chips to the rim, otherwise intact and in excellent condition.

In ancient Egypt, vessels of this type were luxury containers used for precious ointments, cosmetic oils and kohl, valued both for their beauty and the stone's ability to keep contents cool.
