Selenite, a crystalline variety of Gypsum, is a calcium sulfate, which forms from evaporated saltwater. It forms in thin, flat, transparent crystals called plates or windows. Selenite’s orange and golden varieties get their color from the presence of Hematite. The green shades come from Copper.
