Ancient Egyptian Faience Overseer Shabti of Hat

New Kingdom, Ramesside Period, Dynasties XIX–XX (ca. 1292–1069 BC)

A finely modeled faience overseer shabti depicted in mummiform stance, wearing a long striated tripartite wig. The face is well defined, with almond-shaped eyes and cosmetic detailing in black pigment. The pale green-blue faience body retains extensive black-painted decoration.

A vertical column of hieroglyphs runs down the front of the figure, framed within rectangular panels and naming the owner Hat. The absence of agricultural implements and the formal layout of the inscription identify the figure as an overseer shabti, intended to supervise worker shabtis in the afterlife.

“ḏd mdw in Wsỉr nb nḥḥ ḥqꜣ ḏt n kꜣ n Wsỉr Ḥꜣt”

“Words to be spoken, by Osiris, lord of eternity, ruler of perpetuity for the Ka of Hat”

The reverse is plain, with a smooth wig, whip and gently tapering body.
